Former Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has hailed the character of Pedri.

Koeman handed the midfielder his debut at Barca.

He recalled to Football Daily: "When I arrived as coach, I didn't know Pedri, because they signed him from Las Palmas.

"The club told me 'let's see if he's good in the preseason, if not, let him go on loan'. After two training sessions, I told the club: 'Pedri is going to stay and I wouldn't be surprised if he starts in a few weeks'.

"He's a talent that, at that age, 18 or 19, is perfect. Technically, he has good vision, a normal human being..."
