Southampton defender Jos Hooiveld has welcomed the signing of goalkeeper Artur Boruc.
The 32-year old Polish shot-stopper joined the Saints from Fiorentina on a one-year deal in late September and his former Celtic teammate Hooiveld feels it is a great signing for a defence which has shipped 18 goals in six Premier League outings so far this season.
"I found out after our game against (Aston) Villa last week about Artur signing," said Hooiveld.
"I couldn't sleep and I went on the internet and saw his name linked with us.
"I didn't sleep at all after that!
"I only played a few games with Artur at Celtic but he is top class and will be great for Southampton."
