Real Madrid assistant coach Davide Ancelotti: Joselu's story is beautiful

Real Madrid assistant coach Davide Ancelotti admits their stunning win against Bayern Munich was par for the course.

Real are into the Champions League final after Joselu struck twice in the final minutes of this week's semifinal second-leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ancelotti said: "It seems incredible to get used to these things.

"Not to rejoice, but it's true that here, given the past and the history of this club, they know that special things can happen and therefore everyone believes in it a bit. But they (the fans) also transmit this to the team. I think that in this competition only Real Madrid is like this, you experience some truly special nights, especially in this stadium.

"It was a season full of difficulties, starting from the injuries suffered in August, Courtois and Militao, that of Alaba in November, the month of December was troubled with many injuries... This meant that the team was very united group, they all took a step forward, everyone participated. It's really nice to work with this group because there is an extraordinary team spirit."

On Joselu, he added: "His story is beautiful. He grew up in our cantera, he has always been a Real Madrid fan, he went around the world, he gained experience, he is an excellent player, and he should not be forgotten. This allowed him to be in area in the two goals, they are not a coincidence."
