Hamburg coach Walter: Man City midfielder Doyle has sensational quality

Hamburg SV coach Tim Walter says they'll be patient with Manchester City midfielder Tommy Doyle.

Doyle is on a season-long loan with HSV and was hopeful of making his debut against Werder Bremen this weekend. However, the midfielder failed to make the pitch.

Before the match, Walter spoke of his first impressions of the England U21 international, admitting he''s quickly been impressed by the 19 year-old in HSV training.

Quoted by Fussball Transfers, Walter said, "His foot is sensational.

"Tommy is in the observer role and tries to implement things in training. New country, new language - none of this is easy for him."

Indeed, Walter has hinted Doyle can expect to be introduced to Bundesliga football by the end of the month.

He added: "It will take another week or two for him to get used to things."

Doyle has spent his entire career with City, with his move to HSV his first loan transfer away. The midfielder has managed seven first team appearances with City, including in the Champions League.

With a deal to 2025, Doyle's paternal grandfather Mike Doyle and maternal grandfather Glyn Pardoe, were former professional footballers and long-time teammates at City.
