Vince Grella played a full 90 minutes for Blackburn Rovers reserves as they defeated Burnley 4-0 overnight.
The Australia international is on the comeback from a slight calf injury which he sustained during the warm-up of a reserve grade match a couple of weeks ago.
Grella has struggled with injuries since his move to Lancashire from Italian club Torino in August 2008 but is said to be close to full fitness and a further 90 minutes can only help his cause.
Chelsea loanee Franco Di Santo netted twice for the Rovers whilst Maceo Rigters and Aaron Doran also chimed in as Grella played a vital defensive midfield role.
