Ex-Huddersfield boss Wagner enters advanced talks with Schalke

David Wagner is in advanced talks to become the new manager of Schalke.

The German left Huddersfield Town halfway through this season by mutual consent.

Schalke approach Wagner for talks over replacing Dominic Tedesco a few weeks ago, but the 47-old-year wanted to enjoy a break from football.

However, Sky in Germany say talks have now reached their final stages.

Wagner spent two years at Schalke as a player between 1995 and 1997.
