Former Hellas Verona striker Nikola Kalinic is excited to have joined Hajduk Split.

Kalinic played in defeat to Juventus on Sunday before being released from his Verona contract and leaving for Hajduk Split.

He said, "The return to Hajduk is a special moment in my life. I have signed contracts with many clubs, big clubs, I have played for them, but Hajduk is the greatest for all of us who have grown up here and are emotionally attached to each other.

"This is where I grew up, this is where I got my football affirmation, in the end this is where I was born and this is where my people are. I will do my best to hold this moment, to cheer everyone who breathes for the Hajduk and to keep this moment and the current excitement that reigns around the club for as long as possible."
