Denilson has already made a favourable impression on Bolton Wanderers players as he continues his trials.

"When we heard he was coming to train with us, it was like … which Denilson? The real one?" said defender, Nicky Hunt.

"We thought he was coming in with the Nike boys to film an advert."

Many of the Wanderers players have been impressed with the physical condition that the former Brazil international arrived in.

"It was a little unexpected," Hunt said of the former Betis and FC Dallas winger. "Andy O'Brien said he had a trial at Portsmouth a few years ago but wasn't in peak physical condition then.

"Now he looks trim and sharp - it's amazing to have a player of his calibre with us training."
