Columbus Crew in shock after Kirk Urso death

Columbus Crew are in shock over the death of Kirk Urso.

Early reports say the coroner investigating the 22 year-old's death believe it was due to natural causes.

"He was the kind of person and the kind of leader that we want in the locker room," Crew president and general manager Mark McCullers told the Columbus Dispatch. "That was something that was a really big factor in drafting him. I'm not sure I can stress that enough. He was a good soccer player, but really those characteristics were something that drove the conversation to draft him."

Fellow rookie Ethan Finlay, Urso's roommate, said: "He was a great pro.

"He always took care of his body. Even when at home, he would be stretching and foam rolling. He loved life so much and was itching to get back to soccer."
