Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Everton left-back Lucas Digne.

Marcos Alonso is Thomas Tuchel's only remaining natural left-back after Ben Chilwell was ruled out for the rest of the season.

The Toffees recently signed Ukrainian left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko, paving the way for Digne's exit after his fallout with Rafa Benitez.

The Sun says Chelsea have been trying to recall Emerson from his loan with Lyon but are now keen on Digne instead.

France international Digne has played 125 times for Everton since joining from Barcelona in 2018.
