Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua have not released Didier Drogba, contrary to reports.

It was suggested that the former Chelsea star had left Shanghai with a potential move back to the Premier League or Spain an option but a spokeswoman for the Sports PR Company, which represented the Ivorian, has denied those claims.

The comments state that Drogba has not left Shanghai with reports of him exiting pure 'nonsense' and saying that his recent trip to his old club Chelsea was simply a visit with him due back at the club after next weekend's international break.

Shanghai currently sits tenth in the 16-team CSL with Drogba having scored four goals in six league appearances whilst former Blues teammate Nicolas Anelka has netted three times in 18 outings since his move from Stamford Bridge.
