Forest boss Nuno admits keeping best players crucial summer target

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has warned the club that holding onto their best players will be a challenge.

The City Ground team are facing financial difficulties as they seek to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Santo spoke about holding onto young talents that may be appealing to top Premier League or European clubs.

After victory over Burnley, he said: “You never know in football. You have to realize that the way we finished this season, some players in our squad are going to attract interest, for sure.

“They are talented, they are young and they are in a good moment of their careers. You cannot control these things. We have to see what happens."

“We have to make decisions, but they are not tough - they are based on what we believe," Nuno added.

“Not tough decisions. I don't consider them tough decisions; they are part of the job.

“We are very, very happy and proud of the way we finished the season. We all know how tough this season was for all of us at the football club.

“It was important to finish on a high - winning and achieving the main objective from when we arrived. Our fans are going to see Premier League football next season.

“Now we need to rest. Everyone needs to rest because it was very tough."
