Iker Casillas has revealed Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho was among the first people to contact him after his heart attack last year in Portugal.

The pair fell out while at Real Madrid, but Casillas says Mourinho was quick to call him after his shock collapse during Porto training.

"Many don't know, but the artist José Mourinho was one of the first three people who spoke to me to find out how he was doing," said Casillas.

"I saw people I hadn't seen for a long time, it makes you appreciate the little things. You start to live more day by day and stop being closed in your world, in your head. What you have to do, to think, is what you are going to do every day.

"I was very lucky, there are people who don't have that much ... Circumstances made me appreciate everything. I am privileged, if I can stay connected to football, I will do so."
