Brentford captain Jansson plays down prospect of Malmo return: Not in their current state

Brentford captain Pontus Jansson has played down the prospect of re-signing for Malmo in 2023.

Jansson has spoken opening about playing again for MFF.

But he told Sportbladet: "In terms of football, where Malmö is right now, it will be a little more difficult for me to move home. Today, Malmö doesn't even have a coach. I can't speak badly about Daniel (Andersson) or Andreas (Georgsson) who are close friends of mine, but the season this year is anything but good.

"Sure, they won the Cup, but once again ending up in a situation where you have to fire the coach is not good. It hasn't turned out well either. I'm quite disappointed.

"It would have been easier to move home if everything had worked and Malmö had led the table with all the resources they have. I don't really know everything that happens behind closed doors in MFF. But I think they should be in a better table position and feel better overall. I think you can be honest and say that."
