Bayern Munich great Mehmet Scholl slammed former Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane following the Bundesliga club's exit from the Champions League.

Bayern's defence of their European crown came to an end at the quarter-final stages, with Paris Saint-Germain progressing on away goals.

Eric Choupo-Moting's second-leg header was not enough for the Bavarians to overturn the 3-2 defeat they suffered at the Allianz Arena last week.

"I'm overwhelmed, I don't know. At 25 years of age, he's still unfinished," Scholl - who won the Champions League in 2001 - told BILD.

"When do I dribble? When do I pass the opponent on which side? The mix isn't right yet, he still lacks structure.

"He's gotten better overall and is getting more and more understanding of Bayern Munich, but he's not quite as far as bang in a game like Arjen Robben or Franck Ribery were."
