Arsenal legend Lehmann chasing Dundee Utd job

Arsenal legend Jens Lehmann is eyeing off the manager's job at Dundee United.

Lehmann, 50, made a total of 200 appearances for the Gunners, and was part of their fabled Invincibles side in the 2003-2004 season.

The Dundee Evening Telegraph says Lehmann is a shock contender for the position at Tannadice Park.

The German has most recently been working as an assistant for Bundesliga side Augsburg and was also on the supervisory board at Hertha Berlin.

He recently sent a message of support to Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno following his serious-looking injury against Brighton, tweeting: "I am really sorry for Bernd Leno. He did great for Arsenal and I hope his injury is not too bad and will recover soon."

Dundee United's previous manager, Robbie Neilson, left the club to join Hearts on Sunday, leaving them in need of a new boss.
