Sheffield Utd boss Wilder defends Grbic ahead of Man Utd clash

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has admitted he and his coaches must make tough decisions this week.

The Blades are set to take on Manchester United on Wednesday in the Premier League.

As they stare relegation in the face, Wilder knows that goalkeeper Ivo Grbic is under particular scrutiny.

“We, as a coaching staff, have had our heads down in terms of a game plan and selection," Wilder said after a 4-1 loss to Burnley.

“There are some big decisions on a lot of key positions.

“Regarding Ivo, there was talk of making a substitution at half time from some of the support and I could have subbed some more players but I thought I'd give them the opportunity to make it right.

“I don't like making those decisions, although I have before and I will if I have to. We have to look at the set up of the team and analyze everything and make sure we do our jobs, as coaches and managers, to put the best players in their best positions and pick the right team, and look at things from a mentality point of view.

“I thought a couple of players took the easy way out, and I didn't like that."
