Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong's season is over.

The Dutchman suffered a serious ankle injury during yesterday's 3-2 defeat at Real Madrid.

Barca medical chiefs say De Jong won't play again this season. However, there is hope he will make the Euros for Holland.

De Jong is set to be sidelined for 5-6 weeks.

Barca announced today: "The tests carried out this Monday have confirmed that the first team player Frenkie De Jong suffers a sprain in his right ankle. It is low and its evolution will mark his availability."
