BBC Sport says the Hammers have met with the former Wolves manager about succeeding David Moyes next season.
Moyes will come off contract at the end of the season. The Scot has always maintained his future won't be decided until the summer.

Club sources insist no decision on Moyes has been made.
However, talks have been held with Lopetegui as a contingency, which have been positive.
