Emery rejected Bayern's offer a fortnight ago, says The Athletic.
The reason for Emery's decision was due to Bayern refusing to grant him the responsibilities he had imagined.

Like Ralf Rangnick, Emery would have liked to have had a major say in squad planning. The former Sevilla coach also wanted to bring a large staff to Sbener Strasse. All of these demands were not something that FC Bayern wanted to meet.
The most important counterargument for Emery, however, was the background noise that has been going on around FC Bayern for weeks: Uli Hoene against Thomas Tuchel, Tuchel against Hoene. Add to that the constant public updates from Herbert Hainer, Jan-Christian Dreesen and co. on the search for a coach, it simply all turned off Emery.
