Tottenham are reviving their long-term interest in Boca Juniors midfielder Wilmar Barrios.

Spurs have been following Barrios for the past 18 months and local media sources say they're now ready to sign him ahead of the January market.

Mundo Boca Radio reports Spurs are willing to do business with Boca over Barrios for a €23m fee.

Negotiations between the two clubs are now at an advanced stage with Spurs aiming to bring Barrios to London for the winter transfer window.

Over the summer, it was reported Boca wanted Colombian midfielder Barrios to postpone a move to Tottenham until the January after the club stepped up their interest in the 24-year-old.

In Argentina, Barrios has been likened to Chelsea ace N'Golo Kante.
