Given both sides are battling for fourth spot, Postecoglou was asked if that was his best win.
He stated: I don't know, it's a hard one to assess. At the beginning of the year we played some big games, we handled ourselves well.
But considering the context of the game, the venue and the opponent, I thought it was as controlled as we'd been in any game all year, the way we handled everything.
It's a positive for us, because again, there's a lot of growth in this team, and it's one of the areas, can we control games, even against quality opponents."
He then added on the challenge of beating Villa at home, given their great home record: I don't know about that. I still think for the most part, the basic principles of their game doesn't really change.
They're still very well organized and very well structured, but I think for us, part our development as a team is to have a real clear identity that hopefully challenges other teams to change their approach against us. I don't think we're there yet.
There's not enough evidence that we're that compelling as a team yet for teams to adjust, but with these big games it's really important for us to show that irrespective of the circumstances, this is how we're going to play and it's up to the opposition to try to stop us."
