Son struck late for the 2-1 win.

He said, "It was really tough. It was an intense game. It was tough but we knew it would be after the international break, it's always a bit more difficult than usual. The Premier League is never easy. I think we showed great character.

"The three points is massive for us. We don't want it to always end like this, it could be nicer when we have it earlier to make it three points."

On missing so many chances, he continued: "I was really frustrated. There were good passes and I think today I feel like it was an unlucky day, hit the post twice. Until the end I was getting frsutrated but I wanted to stay calm as captain and didn't want to show too much emotion. I'm very pleased I helped the team to get three points."

On becoming Spurs' sixth-top scorer, Son added: "Playing for one club for almost ten years is an incredible feeling and a big honour for me. I didn't even realise how many goals I'd scored I want to thank everyone who played with me and coached me for their big effort. I want to put as much as I can for the team, football is a team sport and the individual comes afterwards. In the last nine games I want to give everything for the team."
