Manchester City are in contact with Boca Juniors midfielder Agustín Almendra.

Sportmediaset says the 18-year-old midfielder has earned rave reviews for his displays in the Primera División this season, and the Blues are said to be one of many European clubs interested in his signature.

Barcelona have been keeping their eye on the teenager, who has been billed as the new Riquelme, for some time.

Almendra has made five appearances in Argentina's top flight this season, one more than Phil Foden has in the Premier League.
