Man City captain Kompany: Momentum key for Champions League tilt

Vincent Kompany believes Manchester City can win the Champions League if they can gather momentum.

The Premier League champions were stunned in the opening matchday with a loss to Lyon.

They face Hoffenheim on Tuesday night and Kompany hopes they can regain some confidence with an important win.

"We'll worry about Hoffenheim first and, if we get momentum, anything is possible," he said.

"We have to deal with the fact we lost against Lyon, never mind winning the Champions League. If we get momentum then anything is possible.

"All I know is that it's the last step that we haven't achieved yet. The club is always aiming to progress. There is nothing left to achieve, but it takes time.

"I don't want to put pressure on the manager here, for the next few years, but we will see and do our best."
