Jamie O'Hara exclusive: Vicario is killing us! Spurs must attack terrible Chelsea

"I didn't think we were that bad," says Jamie O'Hara when asked about losing 3-2 at home to Arsenal. Mind you, this is not a man afraid of lashing out when he sees something he doesn't like and not even Tottenham get a free ride from the TalkSPORT host.

"Obviously, 3-0 down at half time it not good enough, but when you watch the game, I thought we played well. We had some decent moments. Going forward we need to be more clinical, but Timo Werner is not good enough to play for Tottenham.

"I liked him when he came in, he was a fix for a certain period, but he's not good enough to play for Tottenham. We need someone better with more quality. But in terms of the way we played and the way we set up, I thought it was all right," O'Hara tells Tribalfootball.com before touching upon the one thing that is getting him and Spurs fans riled up.

"Our set pieces are a disgrace. We are like a pub team when it comes to defending set pieces. We look like Mickey Mouse, we're so bad. Vicario's got a massive problem. In open play he's really good. He's good on the ball. He makes good saves but from corners he's killing the team.

"But what teams are now doing are just putting people in the six-yard box and put good deliveries in and we just can't deal with it. Two goals conceded again yesterday. How can you compete against Arsenal and come back into the game when you're two down from set pieces? It's a bit of a joke," O'Hara sighs as it is obviously not a good joke from a Spurs-perspective.

Bang average Arsenal?

Spurs were on the ball, while Arsenal were ruthless once again, like they were against Chelsea, when Jason Cundy labelled the Gunners "bang average", much to the astonishment of O'Hara.

"I don't know what game he was watching because they are definitely not bang average. They're more clinical, they're more ruthless, they take their chances. They've got a star player in Saka who can produce something out of nothing. They're brilliant in both boxes, they defend brilliantly and Saliba is fantastic."

When Tottenham took the pitch on Sunday, it was their first game in 15 days. In the meantime, Arsenal played four matches before taking on Spurs, so what's up with all the talk about fatigue and exhausted players?

"I actually think it can go against you to have too long a rest. When you're playing week in and week out, you get into a rhythm and you get into a winning mentality. The games just keep rolling. When you don't play for two weeks it's really difficult to get into any kind of rhythm

"On top of that, they've had to think about the fact they lost 4-0 up in Newcastle and that's been playing on their mind. When I played, if I got beat or had a bad performance, I couldn't wait for the next game to come around. I wanted it to be the next day to get it out of my system," says O'Hara who is now looking forward to the game against Chelsea.

"I think Chelsea is so average, it's unbelievable that Pochettino hasn't really taken any stick this season. It's ridiculous, they are miles away from where they should be after spending a billion pounds. I know, they've got a young squad, but there are other teams with young players and squads who are doing really well.

"Ten Hag is getting absolutely crucified even when he wins a game. If they win, then the performance is not good enough and he's getting the sack. This Chelsea team is terrible, they've got no mentality, they've got no plan, they've got no way of playing. They're just all out there individually trying to put in a performance.

"Sooner or later, the buck's got to stop with the manager. Tottenham have got to go after Chelsea. We've got to put the foot to the throat and put in a big performance because we don't want the season to fall away. We've still got some big games and we're still really in with a massive chance to get top four. You have to take Chelsea to town. What a time to play them."
