"I was walking by the sea, because every day I walk by the sea when I can for at least 10 km, I was waiting for a fishing boat with fresh fish and I received a call from a Napoli manager and clearly I didn't wait for the fish!" Calzona told Cronache di Spogliatoio.
"The phone call lasted about 40 minutes, but while they talked I listened and thought. I never had the slightest doubt. And you can't refuse an offer like that, the comfort zone isn't for me, I love challenges, I went to a country I didn't know like Slovakia and then Naples is part of my life, coming back and helping Napoli was too important for me, a great thing."
On his debut against Barcelona in the Champions League, he also said: "I was coming up from Calabria with a rental car, I was on the ring road, I rolled down the window and let out a scream, such was the adrenaline and joy of returning to Naples with this new role.
"Then I managed to to be measured when I enter the stadium, but this time it was different because I felt the burden of responsibility of representing a Region. And with me my family because they realised the weight of all this."
