Slavia pushed Milan hard in the round 16 first-leg win, with El Hadji Malick Diouf being sent off for the visitors on 26 minutes.

"Honestly, yes, we could've done more and I think going into the break with a two-goal advantage, I expected a better tempo," Pioli told Sky Italia.

It is a good victory, Slavia Prague are a very solid, energetic team, so we still have it all to do in order to earn qualification for the next phase, even with this good advantage.

We had slight distractions on the two goals, not massive errors. I think we should've created more going forward, as they played well with 11 men, but then closed the spaces more when going down to 10. We needed to speed up the tempo and we didn't always do that.

Slavia Praha are a very good side, but the tactical aspects will be different in the second leg. They need to score two goals, so cannot just sit back and wait for us on home turf.

They are very dangerous on the counter and we need to be wary against them, they proved what they can do this evening."

He added: "Fortunately, we were able to take a two-goal advantage, but naturally Slavia Prague will put in the performance of a lifetime in the second leg."
