Marcelino said: "We didn't start the game as we would have liked, we had difficulties in the first minutes. They were one step ahead of us and they scored, something that has been penalizing us all season despite having created chances.
"That generated doubts in us and around the 25th minute we saw the VIllarreal that we are used to, we dominated and in the second half we were very good. I think we had a great second half and we deserved to win. We had a clear chance, but I am satisfied.
"We equalised against Atltico and we had the opportunity to win without settling for a draw."
He also said: "You always have to have the mentality of winning. Villarreal's season is complicated this year. A vulnerable team that had few victories. Losing at home makes me very uncomfortable and even more so in the final stretch. If you can't win in 85 minutes, don't lose in five.
"But we went for the game and it helps us be positive. We see the mentality of the team and we will see what it brings. It was an opportunity to get closer to sixth and we have to win as many points as possible. It is what we should think and the mentality we should have."
