He told the club's website: I feel happy and proud to have played so many games at the club where I've been since I was 11 years old. It's a lot of games, and the best thing is that I feel happy and I hope that there are many more games to come.
I'm aware of how difficult it is to reach the first team - let alone becoming captain. Only a chosen few get to do that. From when I was 11 until now, I've had a lot of teammates who believed and who had the same motivation as me to reach the first team, and they haven't managed it. Very few make it.

"I'm really proud. It's a lot of games. I'm not obsessed at all with overtaking other players. What I try to do is enjoy it, be happy competing at the highest level, and that leads you to accumulate games and overtake legends at the club.
"Now I've overtaken Carboni, who we all know was a great at this club. Being able to play more games than him is something that I'd never imagined."
