After the game, Postecoglou took the time to praise Werner for his effort on the wing.
He stated: Yeah I thought Timo was good. Worked hard, always a threat. He ran at the opposition really well, contributed to our first goal.
The second half in particular he helped us, really pinned them back. Yeah I thought he was ok."
He then added on whether he expected Werner to start so often: At the moment he's doing everything well. He didn't start a few weeks ago.
But we brought him in because we knew we'd need him, and that's how it's proved. We also knew we were getting a player who'd already played at this level so he wasn't really a risk for us and he's been a good contributor.
And with the run-in we've got - Newcastle next week and then a couple of big weeks with midweek games - obviously we'll need the whole squad."
