Former Genoa star Stefano Eranio is happy seeing Alberto Gilardino confirmed.
Eranio admits he was surprised by the delays in Gilardino committing for another season.

He told TMW: "Quite right. We were all perplexed that the confirmation hadn't arrived sooner. For the work done last year and this year, although it must still be said that the board has made a great team available.
"It's a shame about the injuries. The squad is good, but it will be essential to avoid injuries."
Asked about Genoa striker Mateo Retegui, he added: "I think he is one of those players who can make the difference in the area. He has a magnet and the ball always comes to him.
"I hope he can give a hand to the national team, even if in his role Scamacca arrives in great form. I hope he finds the continuity at Genoa."
