The centre half is very happy at Spurs and is hoping that he can showcase his club form at Copa America this summer.
The 26-year-old scored five goals and was a valuable asset in defense as Spurs finished fifth in the table and qualified for the Europa League.
He said in an interview with DSports: "The coach is a beautiful person. He gave me a nice responsibility at the beginning of the season, which was to be vice-captain.
“We have a nice relationship and I thank him for the words he has said and the impact he has had on me.”
He added on Argentina’s Copa campaign: "We are preparing for this new challenge with the same enthusiasm and the same desire.
“It is not an extra pressure to be defending the title. It's nice to arrive with this confidence. I think we are going to be up to par. You have to have the same head and humility. I see the group doing very well.
"Internally I think that the group is always hungry to continue winning things and that is the beautiful thing, what the older players transmit about wanting to continue being at the top. We are in a nice moment to do it again. It is a very difficult competition but I see the group doing very well."
