"Paris St Germain told me violently to my face that at the beginning of the season I would never play again," he said. "Luis Enrique and Luis Campos saved me. Without them I would never have taken the field.

"This is the truth, and it is for this    why I have always been so grateful to the coach and the sporting director."

But a source close to the president told Le Parisien: "Al-Khelaïfi has never dictated the slightest decision regarding the team.

"Luis Enrique also said it, but despite everything Mbappé says something and everyone publishes it as if it were true. In due time everything will come to light, the whole truth."

Meanwhile, L'Equipe says PSG have not yet paid the player's wages for April and May, as well as the €80m bonus expected in February.
