He told El Larguero: “I imagine that what appears in the press will be what we are talking about. Thats how clear I have said it. I haven't spoken to anyone but if I see that Atleti wants to sign eight forwards, I imagine that I am not the club's priority.

"Thats how clear I have said it. I'm 31 years old, I'm going to be 32 in October. I can't stay at Atleti to not play, to not be a priority. This year, I think it could have been very different for me on a personal level as well.

“I have had several injuries and problems and I think I could have had a better season.”

On his relationship with coach Diego Simeone, Morata also said: “Many times, it seems that I get along badly with him or something, but it's the other way around. In fact, I often talk about things in life with him and he has helped me many times with many things. But they are aspects that I do not control, I don't know if I am in his plans and in those of the club.

"We'll talk when he gets back from vacation and I get back from the Euro Cup. We will talk as we have always done.”
