He said: "Barcelona as a club and as a history and one of the most important characteristics is to give confidence to young players. It's very important, because the boys know that when they come to us they will be able to make their debut in the first team. Obviously not everyone, but we try. We brought great stars from La Masia, this is our base.

“We have a particular way of experiencing football, because we have fun with the ball. We educate our children by trying to convey our values such as: education, respect, school. These values can be seen on the pitch and it is fundamental for us.

“We have a scouting department with two main people. Talent is important to us. Today we see that in the world of football too many decisions are made through data.

"I think, however, that a player should be evaluated on his own talent and on what a player can do with his own potential. Data helps, but I like talented players. I like to observe them and enjoy their talent. In the world of football we have professionals who have dedicated their lives to discovering talent.

"We need to find these types of people who discovered Buffon or Messi."
