The French legend criticized United manager Erik ten Hag, even after the team won the FA Cup.

Many fans have turned around their opinion on Ten Hag after they beat Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday.

"I am happy with the FA Cup win. He has done well to win it," Cantona explained after United defeated City.

"But you can't play counter-attacking football for 38 games and win the league. Even when they have all their players, they still don't play beautiful football."

Teddy Sheringham told Sky Sports on Tuesday: "Well, the people in charge have got to have a look at the situation and ask if that is good enough for Man United.

"It's a fantastic end to the season, no doubt, and fully deserved, and I love the way he's brushed things off. 'If Man United don't want me, I'll go win trophies elsewhere,' which is fantastic.

"But at the same time, you look at where they finished. I think it was 13 (league) defeats during the season. It's not good enough for Manchester United.

"They need to be in the top two or three pushing to win the league, and at the moment they're nowhere near it. You've got to look at that as well.

"Yes, winning trophies is fantastic, but the be-all and end-all of Manchester United is being up there challenging.

"I know what it's like to be at that football club; they demand that, and it hasn't been good enough."
