Manchester United's Manuel Ugarte has spoken on young star Ayden Heaven who suffered a a leg injury he picked up against Leicester City on Sunday.

Heaven joined United during the January transfer window from Arsenal for just £1M and has been a revelation since under manager Ruben Amorim who looked to the academy for defensive backup during what has been a tough season packed full of injuries. He was handed his first start for the club during last week’s 4-1 Europa League victory over Real Sociedad and has since slotted into defense seemlessly.

With Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro and Jonny Evans all sidelined, Heaven has come at the perfect time. His performance against the Foxes at the weekend was flawless before he picked up a brutal injury which led him to be stretchered off early in the second half.

He was seen leaving the stadium without crutches but instead with a protective boot which Ugarte says shows he has a strong, fearless mentality which will take him far not just at the club but in the world of football.

"I don’t know how he is. I haven’t asked him but the truth is he's a very strong guy," he said. "This surprised me about him, the personality he has.

"He's played very well in the last few games. Let's hope he doesn't get too bad, and that he recovers well and is ready for what's to come."
