A own goal and Frank Onyeka's effort saw the Bees through to victory.

Wilder said: "Nothing in the game. Obviously the second goal goes in deep into stoppage time when we're chasing it. The scoreline is what it is. I thought it was a tight affair. Tactically, two teams set up in a different way. They couldn't find their killer moment first half or even at the start of the second half. We couldn't as well.

"Brentford will say they earned their first goal. We will say we were a bit unfortunate. I think if we had got in front it would have been an interesting afternoon.

"I don't really assess the league table. I assess the next performance. We're all disappointed. We thought it was a good opportunity. No disrespect. They are under a little bit of pressure at home. We're in OK nick in terms of the performance levels over the past four games since the Arsenal defeat.

"It's been a positive week but we've got to make sure we have a positive Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately it ends in not the way we wanted it to. It has been the hardest task to keep morale going. I've got no problem with the attitude of the players."
