He said on El Chiringuito: "It is nothing out of the ordinary for what a star is.
"Stars are like that and he's like that. And that's the point of being a star too. Maybe you need that personality to be a star."
Asked about his time with the Galacticos, Guti continued: "I knew what my position was within Madrid. I tried to give my best. I knew I could when I played as a centre mid alongside Makelele, many times I knew that my options were to pass to either Figo or Zidane or Ronaldo, because I knew that they were going to solve a game for me.
"Why was there so much talk about Makelele and when he left we said: a pillar of Real Madrid has left us? Because Makelele knew perfectly well what he had to do."
Asked if a comparison between this team and the Galacticos makes sense, Guti went further: "It is a much better team than the Galacticos, a much better team. What the squad is, it is a much better squad than the Galacticos, much more."
