Di Francesco later said: "It seems like I'm doing the same interviews over and over again. The team created and conceded a goal on the first shot. After a possible penalty, we conceded a goal on the first ball.
"We had an excellent opening half hour, we should have scored more. In the end the penalty would have repaid us for the effort and what we deserved, but instead we are here biting our hands.
"I haven't seen the episode again, but it's the general picture. Sassuolo played a waiting game and created little, but they scored goals. We should have been better at scoring goals and credit goes to them: the result is what counts.
"I would have preferred to express what we do less well and score points. I have to understand well what happened today and, given that it's been happening for a few games, we have to do it differently."
