He said: "It is the most talented group we've had here in years. It is a great result and amazing to beat our points total, that was our aim.
"Today was tough, we knew they'd have most of the ball. We had to dig in and they didn't have many clear-cut chances and we're so dangerous in transition and that's what we did. It is a great result.
"Every wide area and up top, we've got so much pace. We're such a dynamic team and that is how we play and it is causing team issues."
On goalscorer Enes Unal, he said: "He's shown a great attitude. It is amazing for him - he's a great guy and an amazing player."
On manager Andoni Iraola, Smith added: "He's been amazing. It was a transition when he first came in and we struggled in first 10 games to get a grip on how he wanted to play. As soon as we got to grips with it we went on a run and haven't looked back since. He's done a great job and I'm looking forward to the last few games and trying to push into the top 10."
