Bayer Leverkusen fullback Boateng admits he'd welcome Liverpool move

Bayer Leverkusen fullback Jeremie Boateng admits he'd welcome a move to Liverpool.

Frimpong made the comments when asked about Bayer coach Xabi Alonso being linked with a return to Anfield to replace Jurgen Klopp.

"Liverpool? It's a great club, with a great history. It would be great to play there. Who knows what the future will bring," said the 23-year-old right-back.

For the moment, however, Frimpong focuses on the excellent season that Bayer Leverkusen is enjoying.

"Football is changing, you have to stay focused. We all trust the coach and we know that we can do something great this season. We want to win a trophy and Alonso helps us with his game system," he continued.

Regarding Xabi, Frimpong highlighted that "he has worked with the best coaches and now he can combine those experiences. Everyone enjoys his style of play, but we should not think that it is easy. They are eight points ahead, yes, but it's nothing. Especially when it comes to Bayern."
