Central Coast Mariners v Perth Glory preview

Surely it can’t get any worse for Perth Glory following six successive defeats.

Surely it can’t get any worse for Perth Glory following six successive defeats.

Tomorrow night they take on a Central Coast Mariners outfit who have played just once in the last two weeks and will either be fresh or rusty for the second match of Sydney Football Stadium’s double-header.

The Glory sunk to a new low when they were brushed aside by the previously winless Sydney FC at home last weekend and coach Ian Ferguson has a big job on his hands to turn things around as quickly as possible.

Some changes are expected for this fixture as the former North Queensland Fury boss tinkers with his line-up to find a successful formula. Skipper Jacob Burns is out after accumulating yellow cards but his loss may be offset by the return of last year’s best player Andy Todd.

In the Mariners camp, things are going along just ok, as they always seem to do at Bluetongue Stadium. The return of Patricio Perez is sure to spark the side who have plenty of grinders but not a lot of flair.

In a match which, on paper, doesn’t do a whole lot for the avid viewer, Central Coast may have just enough to overcome the Glory who have netted just two goals in their last six outings.

Verdict: Mariners 1-0
