Blackburn chairman Williams held crunch talks with Ince

Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince held crunch talks with chairman John Williams yesterday, it has been revealed.

The Daily Mail says Ince's precarious position in charge of Blackburn was complicated further by a meeting on Tuesday with an anxious Williams at which he is believed to have been told that he must make changes to his coaching staff.

Ince has Archie Knox and Ray Mathias working for him, while his decision to bring in TV pundit and former Arsenal full back Nigel Winterburn as a part-time coach has come under fire from the stands.

The manager nevertheless retains Williams' support and is confident of an upturn in Rovers' fortunes with a series of winnable games after Liverpool visit on Saturday.
