Brisbane Roar winger Michael Zullo stands by his decision to reject a move to NEC Nijmegen. The Courier Mail says the move could have brought over $600,000 to Brisbane's coffers, just weeks before they were placed into the hands of Football Federation Australia due to financial difficulties.
"When I decided to stay I was aware there were some issues there, but I wasn't aware of the extent of it," Zullo said.
"But to be honest, it really wouldn't have changed my decision.
"I'm happy here at the moment. I'm still living with my family and living away is a big deal.
"I'm just waiting for the right time to head overseas."
