Sassuolo striker Leonardo Pavoletti is a target for Gianfranco Zola's Cagliari.
Pavoletti has been in talks with Leeds for some weeks and visited Elland Road last week.
Sky Sport Italia says Cagliari have stepped in with their own proposal for the 26-year-old.
Pavoletti impressed new Coach Gianfranco Zola, who took over from sacked Zdenek Zeman on Christmas Eve.
