New Watford boss Gianfranco Zola has invited Filippo Inzaghi to the clubs training ground today with a deal a distinct possibility.
The Watford Observer reports that the Hornets are keen on the 38-year old Italian striker, who is a free agent after his contract with AC Milan expired recently, and may offer him a deal this week.
Zola, who finished his international career in 1997 when Inzaghi began his, has taken the reins from Sean Dyche after the Pozzo family took over at Vicarage Road and is keen to bring some quality into the squad he inherited.
However, Watford has competition from Premier League returnees Reading who have already tabled an offer for Inzaghi.
