Real Madrid great Zinedine Zidane has become the Spanish clubs director of football.
The 39-year old Frenchman has been working at the club as a special adviser to president Florentino Perez but has now been appointed in a much more important role and he admits he is motivated by the challenge.
"I will be director of football for the first team," Zidane told reporters in Spain.
"(Jose) Mourinho influenced this decision, but also Florentino. We will see (what tasks I am assigned), but I will (be occupying the new role) from Monday until the end of the season."
