Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini was delighted with their performance in victory over Sampdoria.
The Sicilian outfit won 3-0 at the Renzo Barbera and were back to their scintillating best after Serie A's annual winter break.
Zamparini said: "It was a beautiful game and a beautiful victory.
"I saw my team play well. We would be second in the table if they hadn't damaged us with repeated refereeing mistakes. We would have seven points extra.
"Other teams have four or five points extra. Yesterday Catania were unlucky against Roma."
